Process for reducing the emissions from furnaces, incinerators and exhaust air systems and for combined elimination of contaminants in pollutant gases and waste waters

The object of the invention is essentially to avoid the direct emission of pollutant gases into the atmosphere, to very largely eliminate the contaminants contained therein, if required together with the contaminants in waste waters, with an efficiency which is independent of the amount of contaminant emitted, and to replace the conventional pollutant gas purification processes by the present process. This object is achieved according to the invention by the process scheme depicted in Figure 1 for combined reduction and elimination of emission for pollutant gases and waste waters, the mode of operation being as follows: A water jet diffusion pump operated with fresh water, ground water, prepurified or purified waste water or combinations thereof draws in the pollutant gases which are dissolved in the water, are diffused, entrained and passed into the solvent converter (8) from where the water, with the pollutant gases dissolved therein, for the purpose of breaking down contaminants, flows off, together with the mechanically pretreated domestic or industrial waste waster, into a plant-root sewage treatment system (reed bed) (16, 17).
