PURPOSE:To efficiently remove water hardening components in water and prevent scales from adhering to a can of a steam generating apparatus by applying direct voltage to an electrolysis apparatus at the time of regeneration of cation exchange resin and supplying acidic water obtained in a positive pole chamber as regenerating water to a water softening apparatus. CONSTITUTION:A heater 2, an electrolysis apparatus 3 which is divided into a positive chamber 7 and a negative pole chamber 8 by a separator 4 and has an electrode 5, 6 in the chambers, respectively, and a water softening apparatus 13 filled with cation exchange resin 12 are installed in water route to supply water to a steam generating apparatus 15, wherein the apparatus 13 is set on the downstream side of the apparatus 3. At the time of regeneration of the cation exchange resin 12, direct current voltage is applied between both the electrodes 5, 6 of the electrolysis apparatus 3 and acidic water obtained in the positive pole chamber 7 is supplied as regenerating water to regenerate the cation exchanger resin 12 to the water softener 13. Consequently, soft water of which calcium ion and magnesium ion are substituted with hydrogen ion is supplied in a water softener and acidic water is used for regeneration of the resin 12. |
