A device for location or position determining on a map, a nautical chart or similar. For determining the position two lines (12, 14) are e.g. an intersection performing a position marking. The device comprises a disc (10) on which are marked or engraved the lines (12, 14) forming the intersection (K) for the position marking. On the disc (10) an adjustment device (16) is arranged, e.g. a ruler, being displaceably movable in one direction across the disc. A second adjustment device (20), e.g. a ruler or a slide, is displaceably movably arranged across the disc (10) in another direction perpendicular to the first direction. Edges on the adjustment devices (16, 20) or on the adjustment devices marked or engraved cords (18, 22) are then crossing each other perpendicularly and forming an intersection for a further position marking. By means of auxiliary lines on the chart or similar the adjustment devices (16, 20) can be used to define the position of the disc (10) on the chart or similar in relation to read or set values of e.g. the latitude or the longitude. |
