PURPOSE:To accurately judge when to replace a laser medium gas by a method wherein products of laser output and discharge duration are integrated. CONSTITUTION:A silent discharge carbon dioxide gas laser 12 is provided with a discharge duration integrating timer 13 and a laser output detector 9. A detected laser output W0 and the discharge time to at that output are multiplied in an arithmetic means 17 and the products Calo are integrated in the arithmetic means 17. When the integrated value Cal is equal to or larger than an Snal set by a setting means 14, a comparing means 15 outputs a signal, which activates a display means 16 that announces the arrival of the time for a laser medium gas (carbon dioxide gas) replacement. With both laser output and discharge time being used to determine the degree of laser gas deterioration, the time for a change may be accurately judged. |
