PURPOSE: To provide a purge system which effectively removes the suspended oversprayed powder in a vehicle cabin by forming symmetrical air flow patterns in the vehicle cabin. CONSTITUTION: A cabin purge zone 45 includes a pair or more of inlet hood assemblies 46 and 47 on the respective sides of the passages of a vehicle body 19 and is provided with hoods 48 so as to be fitted from the upper parts to the bottoms of the side window openings of the vehicle body 19. The respective hoods 48 are connected to a vacuum recovering manifold 49 connected to a vacuum source 50 to suck the air in the vehicle cabin into the hoods 48 by a vacuum effect. The makeup air flows from a front windshield opening and rear windshield opening into the vehicle cabin simultaneously with the suction. The cabin purge zone 45 constitutes a zone which removes powder from the cabin by using the inlet hood assemblies 46 and 47 and also constitutes knock- down and transition zones for removing the other oversprayed powder from a booth 11 before the vehicle body emerges from the booth outlet.
