Method for reducing cholesterol by co-administering M-CSF and conventional cholesterol reducing agents

Methods are presented for improving the lipoprotein cholesterol profile of a mammal. Methods are also presented for removing atherosclerotic lesions from a mammal that has such lesions. The methods comprise administering to the mammal a therapeutic amount of an M-CSF protein in combination with a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient.
