PURPOSE:To provide the word processor and a character blanking method capable of blanking optional characters in a document displayed on a screen to blank characters by a simple operation and then displaying and confirming the blanked characters by the simple operation. CONSTITUTION:When an area on the screen of a display device 6 is specified by a pointing device 5, a CPU 1 stores the characters in the area and the display positions in a RAM 3. Thereafter, when the area is specified again by the pointing device 5, the CPU 1 changes the characters in the area to be visible when they are invisible and to be invisible when they are visible inversely on the screen of the display device 6 based on the stored characters and the display positions. |
