<p>PURPOSE:To provide an improved lithographic ink composition which forms emulsified ink of a lowered water content without detriment to the scumming resistance by adding an alkylene oxide/rosin adduct to a lithographic ink. CONSTITUTION:Natural rosin or modified rosin and optionally a catalyst such as NaOH are dissolved in an inert solvent, an alkylene oxide is blown into the solution under agitation and reacted to obtain an alkylene oxide/rosin adduct (B) in which 1-100mol of the alkylene oxide is present per equivalent of the carboxyl groups of the rosin. 0.01-10 pts.wt. component B is added to 100 pts.wt. lithographic ink (A) com nszng comprising 20-50 pts.wt. resin such as resin-modified phenol or alkyd resin, 0-30 pts.wt. vegetable oil such as linseed oil or tung oil, 1-60 pts.wt. solvent such as n-paraffin or aromatic and 0-60 pts.wt. organic or inorganic pigment.</p> |
