PURPOSE:To obtain a high sensitivity and high resolving power and plate wear resistance by forming a developer of a first bath as a developer which does not substantially induce diffusion transfer development and forming a developer of a second bath as a developer contg. a silver halide bath agent necessary for inducing the diffusion transfer development. CONSTITUTION:The development of a planographic printing material is executed by the two baths. The developer of the first bath is formed as the developer which does not substantially induce diffusion transfer development and the developer of the second bath is formed as the developer contg. the silver halide bath agent necessary for inducing the diffusion transfer development. Namely, the developer of the first bath is an ordinary developer and is suppressed in the dissolving power to a lower level by the kind, volume, etc., of the silver halide bath agent. Such developer is, for example, the developer which does not substantially contain the silver halide bath agent. On the other hand, the developer of the second bath is a dissolution transfer developer of the high resolving power, which further transfers the undeveloped silver halide to the physical development nuclei and precipitates such silver halide as a silver image. |
