PURPOSE:To improve the image quality of a television receiver decoding a sub-sampled image signal and reproducing it. CONSTITUTION:This receiver is composed of two field memories 31, 32 and a frame memory 4 for which a serial connection is performed, an interpolation processing circuit 8 performing an interpolation processing from the output of three memories and an input video signal, a low-pass replacement circuit 10 replacing the low-pass frequency component of the output of this interpolation processing circuit 8 by the low-pass frequency component of an input video signal, a circuit 12 detecting the prohibition of low-pass replacement from the input video signal and a circuit ORing this prohibition signal and an inter-field difference signal outputted from the interpolation circuit 8 and controlling the low-pass replacement circuit 10 by this output. Therefore, the accuracy of the motion detection of a horizontal edge area is improved by the detection of the inter-field difference and outputted image quality can be improved. |
