A pump filter is described, having a tubular filter part (7) which can be inserted tightly into a container opening (5) of a liquid container, which opening is formed in the approximately horizontal bottom of a pocket (4) which is fashioned in the container and is open at the top. The filter part, with its one end, projects to near the bottom of the liquid container and, by its other end which protrudes from the liquid container, can be connected to the intake port (6) of a liquid pump. At the lower end of that zone of the filter part (7), which projects into the container interior, a float support (9, 49, 59) is disposed in an articulated manner, with at least one float (12) and, at a distance from the filter part, a functional element (14, 45) of a level switch. <IMAGE>
