A cable grip (16) for strain relief of multicore electrical connecting cables (11) to electrical appliances, especially to actuating motors in motor vehicles, has a retaining part (17) with a plurality of parallel grooves (19) for the respective positively locking insertion of a section of the cable cores (13), and has a holding part (20) for fixing the inserted cable sections in the retaining part (17). In order to achieve cost-effective manufacture of the cable grip (16) and simplified assembly, the parallel grooves (19) are passed around part of the outer circumference of the retaining part (17) so that the grooves (19) run approximately in a U-shape when seen in cross-section through the retaining part (17). The holding part (20) is formed by an appliance pocket (21) which is constructed in the appliance housing (10) and into which the retaining part (17) is inserted such that the bend of the groove U faces the base (211) of the pocket (Fig. 2). <IMAGE>
