The device comprises a base which is provided with means for holding the object, a flexible clamping element, and clamping means; in the fitted position of the device, the longitudinal axis of the base is perpendicular to the tube, and part of the base comes into contact with the circumference of the tube, and part of the clamping element lies around the tube. On one side of the part which lies around the tube, the clamping element engages on the base, while on the other side it is coupled to the clamping means in order to fix the base to the tube in a force-fitting manner. The clamping means comprise a carriage which can be displaced in the longitudinal direction of the base, is provided with coupling means for coupling the clamping element and is provided with guide means, which interact with the base and hold the carriage displaceably on the base, and an adjustment means for moving the carriage.
