ELECTROCHEMICAL BATTERY AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PURPOSE: To ensure excellent welding between current leading lugs of electrode plates and a connecting piece in an electrochemical storage battery. CONSTITUTION: An electrochemical storage battery includes electrode plates 15 of different polarities, which are alternately laminated one on another, thereby obtaining an electrode lamination 5. Each of the electrode plates 15 is formed of an electrode frame, to which a current leading lug 2 is welded. The current leading lugs 2 of the same polarity in the electrode lamination 5 are conductingly connected to a connecting piece 1. The connecting piece 1 is provided with lateral slits 3 at the current leading lugs 2. A free end range 4 of the current leading lug 2 is inserted into the lateral slit 3. The current leading lug 2 is welded to the connecting piece 1 at a plate face 6 of the connecting piece 1 on a side remote from the electrode lamination 5.
