PURPOSE: To facilitate the manufacture and to obtain an excellent result by extracting a U and a V chrominance difference signal and obtaining a motion signal from their one linearity combination. CONSTITUTION: A U chrominance signal is delayed by a frame delay device 1U, whose input and output are supplied to a subtracter 3U to obtain the absolute value of the differences between the input terminals from them. This chrominance difference signal Ud is made by a multiplier 5 into a difference signal Ud' which is 11/16 time as large as the signal Ud. Further, a V chrominance signal is delayed by a frame delay device 1V and a subtracter 3V obtains the absolute value of the difference between the input terminals. Those chrominance difference signals Vd and signal Ud' are sent to a comparator 7 to control a double changeover switch 9 which input the signals Ud' and Vd at its switching contacts. The common contact of the switch 9 is connected to a 5/16 multiplier 11 and the output terminal of a multiplier 11 and the common contact of the switch 9 are connected to an adder 13 to obtain a signal M indicating the quantity of motion of the chrominance signal. |
