For the filling of joints of paving element arrangements, use is made of a joint mortar (6) which contains predominantly grains with a diameter of 1 to 4 mm. After being filled up completely, the joints are vibrated by means of a vibrating device (7) in order to allow excess liquid and air inclusions to escape. The paving element arrangement is then preferably cleaned by means of a sponge, or a device with a revolving sponge. As a result, visually attractive joints are obtained. The quartz-sand joint mortar which is preferably to be used is, in particular, very fluent and does not separate out during the vibrating operation either. The joints produced therewith are of extremely high quality.
