The multi-colour printing system controls the single-pass electronic printer for the formation of the integrated security document image by an image generation system which electronically generates a safety background image pattern with two colour patterns. The first colour pattern is interposed with the second colour pattern and alphanumeric information interposed with the safety background image pattern is electronically merged for printing the integrated image security document in a single pass.
