PURPOSE:To provide an actuator which utilizes an electroviscous fluid that realizes high controllability and large output even in a high shearing speed sphere by solving the lowness of output in the high shearing speed sphere by using an electroviscous fluid whose shearing stress is proportional to a shearing speed. CONSTITUTION:A electroviscous fluid whose shearing stress is proportionate to a spearing speed, is a fluid whose viscous degree at the time of voltage impression satisfies the following expression; tau=eta(D-D0)<n>+C, here, tau is shearing stress(Pa), and eta is an apparent viscous rate(Pa.sec), and D is a shearing speed (sec<-1>), and D0 is a delay value (sec<-1>), and n is a coefficient (apositive real number), and C is yield stress(Pa), and n, C & D0 is 0.8<=n<=1.5, preferably, 0.9<=n<=1.2, 0<=C<=300, preferably, 0<=C<=100 (a value at the time of 3kv/mm voltage impression), 0<=D0<=30. It is desirable that the apparent viscous rate etais as large possible. By using this electrovisous fluid, an actuator is provided. |
