PURPOSE: To improve efficiency in a laser bonding method by converging a beam of radiation at a predetermined location with a conical or parabolic opening. CONSTITUTION: A first part 12 and a second part 14 are composed of a material opaque to a beam of radiation e.g. plastic or stainless steel. The part 14 is formed so as to include a pair of convergent openings 16, 18. The convergent. beams of radiation irradiate the part 14 and enter the openings 16, 18. The beams of radiation are formed into many parallel beams entering the openings 16, 18. The beams of radiation entering the openings 16, 18 are respectively directed so as to continuously converge toward the ends 20, 22 of the openings 16, 18. As far as the ends 20, 22 are substantially located near to a surface 24, heat enough to achieve laser beam welding is generated at locations A, B. |
