<p>PURPOSE: To provide a manifold with an improved flow-splitting characteristics that can give uniform or nearly uniform flows from a plurality of outlet passages. CONSTITUTION: Flow dynamics inside a manifold 10 is adjusted by changing cross-sectional area of an elongated hole 13 of the manifold 10. The cross-sectional area changes by inserting one or more inserts 22 in the internal hole 13 of the manifold 10, and each insert 22 has a non-constant cross-sectional area so as to compensate for the differential flow characteristics within the manifold 10. Alternatively, the interior of the manifold 10 may be formed with a non-constant cross-sectional area designed to compensate for the differential flow characteristics within the manifold 10.</p> |
