<p>PURPOSE:To allow anyone, not an expert, to accurately judge the name of a rock by making the rule base inference or the fuzzy inference based on the knowledge data base. CONSTITUTION:The knowledge data base constituted of the rock classification frame, fuzzy rule, and membership function indicating the features of rocks are prepared in advance. When an unknown rock is observed, the observation results on the color index and hardness are applied to the knowledge data base of a rhyolite, for example, to get a solution confidence level. The fuzzy inference is made on the touch and luster with the prescribed fuzzy rule and membership function to get the representative value of fidelity. The obtained solution confidence level and the representative value of fidelity are converted to get the rock confidence level of the rhyolite. The above processes are applied to all rocks, and the name of the rock having the highest value of the rock confidence level is judged as the type of the unknown rock.</p> |
