PURPOSE:To make a light incident into an optical fiber at its intermediate point without cutting off the optical fiber by radiating a light from an external light emitting means toward the intermediate point of the optical fiber in the state in which micro-bending arises. CONSTITUTION:After an optical fiber 24 is positioned on a prescribed position by means of a guide plates 28 and a pressing plate 29 acting as two pressing members, the fiber is clamped on a second clamping member 2 by means of a first clamping member 1. Micro-bending occurs by clamping and a light for optical transmission is transmitted from an optical fiber device 25 toward the optical fiber 24 holding this state. The light is made incident into the core of the optical fiber 24 through the second transparent clamping member 2 based on the phenomena reversing the light direction and having the same principle as that of the micro-bending loss and a bending loss. After the termination of light transmission, the optical fiber 24 from which external force is released becomes free from the micro-bending and returns to the original state. |
