<p>PURPOSE:To enable smooth fast forward and backward reproduction by recording data on pictures and P pictures as data for fast reproduction all together while shifting them by a time required for a jump in fast reproduction. CONSTITUTION:On a recording medium 10, I2, P5, P8, P11, and P14 (frames for fast reproduction) among signals of respective frames inputted to an image signal encoder 1 in the order of B0-P14 are put together, and inserted, arranged, and recorded at specific positions (at the head of GOP in this case) about B0, B1, B3, B4, B6, B7, B9, B10, B12, and B13 (other frames). In this case, the data for fast reproduction are recorded while shifted from the tail of last data for fast reproduction by the time required for a track jump. Consequently, the wait time up to a read of data for fast reproduction after last data for fast reproduction are read can greatly be shortened.</p> |
