PURPOSE: To download an executable file via a device included in a remote LAN and also to carry out the file at a emote place in regard to an interactive network substrate which is connected to the LAN. CONSTITUTION: A LAN communication program performs the broadcast of an inquiry to a designated interactive network substrate via a LAN, receives the position information on the designated substrate based on the answer that is given to the inquiry of broadcast and settles communication with the substrate. An executable file is downloaded into a RAM provided on the substrate via a LAN interface. Then the check sum value of the executable file is collated with the check sum value of an accessory check sum packet of the executable file. If this collation ends in a normal state, the execution of the file is commanded at a remote place via the LAN interface.
