PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of graph preparing processing by providing a means deciding the range corresponding to table data from document data and a means graphing the table data. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 1 starts a graph preparing program 12b and a table recognition program 12c and executes the graphing processing of table data. The CPU 1 retrieves numeric data in the digit direction (to the right in the same line) from the position of a cursor. Thus the range of table data (the range consisting of start and end points) dividing respective numeric data inputted in succession over one or more lines by a blank or ruled line can be automatically set. Thus, a user can set the range of the table data without operating a cursor key 2b of a keyboard 2. The CPU 1 executes the graph preparing processing according to the range of the set table data and displays the prepared graph data on the screen of a display device 4. Accordingly, a troublesome input operation to decide the graph processing range can be simplified, resulting in improving the graph preparing efficiency. |
