<p>A socket (1) for a hip joint prosthesis is provided with a plurality of meridian incisions (7) which define as many segments (8) elastically flexible in a radial direction. The inner surface (5) of the socket (1) is provided with one or more grooves (14, 18) parallel to the proximal rim, wherein these grooves receive corresponding reliefs (29, 34) of a joint insert (20). The socket additionally comprises one or more frustoconical portions (13, 17) which form bearing surfaces for corresponding frustoconical portions (28, 33) of the joint insert (20). The inner surface 5 of the socket (1) bounds a polygonal seat (16) which is adapted to engage with a polygonal portion (31) of the joint insert (20) by means of a form fit. <IMAGE></p> |
