PURPOSE:To provide the color filter with which the generation of peeling of a sealing material by stress generation to dummy pixels is prevented and which can eliminate the uneven spacings in the peripheral part of a display region and the color liquid crystal display device. CONSTITUTION:This color filter is constituted by forming a light shielding layer 1 in prescribed patterns on a transparent substrate 1 and forming colored layers 3a, 3b, 3c including the dummy pixels 3e in the peripheral part of the display region on the transparent substrate 1 covering the light shielding layer. Further, the dummy pixels are formed smaller in the density per unit area nearer the periphery. This color liquid crystal display device is provided with the first substrate 1, the second substrate which is disposed to face the first substrate apart a prescribed spacing, is sealed in the peripheral part by sealing materials 11, 12 and has at least electrodes on the opposite surface side and a liquid crystal 13 held in the spacing therebetween. Further, the first substrate is the mentioned above color filter, by which the mentioned above purpose is attained. |
