In the production of endless sheet-metal tubes, the problem of accurate and safe cutting-to-length arises. …According to the method, openings (8) are punched in a strip (2) which serves to wind a tube (4), which openings (8) are punched before the winding. A cutting apparatus (5) for carrying out the method has roller shears (10) which are designed in such a way that they can pivot with a cutting roller into this opening (8). The cutting action is then effected by the rotary movement of the tube (4). The cutting rollers of the roller shears each have two cutting edges.
