PURPOSE:To replace gas easily according to the sample to be analyzed by feeding the desired gas to either the reference chamber or the sample chamber of the analyzer and by discharging the former gas from the other chamber. CONSTITUTION:When the gas in the sample and reference chambers is desired to replace itself with another gas, the sample holder 8 is removed from the sample chamber to form a gap g, the gas feed pipe 14 is connected to the desired gas source, and the vlave 17 is opened. New gas is introduced into the reference chamber 4 through the inlet port 15, valve passage 16 and outlet port 13. The gas in the reference chamber is led to the sample chamber 3 through the passage 5, the former gas is discharged from the chamber through the gap g to replace itself with the new gas. After completion of the replacement, the sample holder is returned to the original position. |
