PURPOSE:To enable speed change so as to meet the intention of a driver by limiting up-shift even if the rate of the present torque ratio to the desired torque ratio exceeds a predetermined one when a set torque ratio range selector is operated to increase the minimum torque ratio. CONSTITUTION:In a torque ratio controller 4 for changing the torque ratio between the input and output members of a continuously variable transmission 2 by an actuator 10 according to the output of a set torque ratio range selector 3, a present torque ratio detecting means 41 and a table torque ratio calculating means 42 for calculating table torque ratio are provided. A desired torque ratio is set according to the rate of the table torque ratio to the set minimum torque ratio, and an up/down shift signal is outputted according to the rate of the present torque ratio to the desired torque ratio. Then, when a set torque ratio range selector 3 is operated to increase the minimum torque ratio, up-shift is adapted to be limited even if the rate of the present torque ratio to the desired torque ratio exceeds a predetermined one. |
