PURPOSE:To provide an inexpensive high-grade image receiving layer for sublimation type thermal transfer recording thermally stable and generating no curling, wrinkles and peeling with high productivity. CONSTITUTION:A foamed polyolefin layer is laminated to both surfaces of a core material such as paper or a plastic film by an adhesive to form a base material sheet and a dye receiving layer is provided on one surface of the sheet and a slip layer is provided to the other surface thereof. In the lamination of the core material and the foamed polyolefin layer, an adhesive having ionizing radiation reactivity and curable properties or crosslinking reactivity due to heat and/or normal temp. is used.
