PURPOSE:To provide a catalyst having a novel shape for advantageous production of unsatd. aldehyde and unsatd. carboxylic acid by vapor phase catalytic oxidation from propylene, isobutylene, tert. butanol or methyl tert. butyl ether. CONSTITUTION:This catalyst is a tubular catalytic molding having a noncircular cross section with at least three roundish protrusions along an outer periphery and a circular hole at the inside and contains at least molybdenum, bismuth and iron as catalytic components. When this catalyst is used at the time of producing unsatd. aldehyde by a vapor phase catalytic oxidation reaction of olefin, the yield can be enhanced. |
