A coating resin composition comprising, as a main component, an amino group-containing, modified epoxy resin derivative obtained by subjecting a hydroxyl group containing epoxy resin having epoxy equivalent of 200-400 and a cyclic ester compound represented by the general formula (I) (I) <IMG> (R is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group and n is 3-6) to an addition reaction to obtain an addition product and then adding to the addition product a polyphenol compound and an amino groupcontaining compound.
