The invention relates to a system for localised broadcasting of messages, of the type comprising, on the one hand, a transmitter farm, and, on the other hand, at least one mobile receiver comprising means for receiving signals broadcast in the form of radio frequency waves, characterised in that the said farm consists of fixed transmitters (6), each transmitter comprising, on the one hand, means for storing a specific message in memory and, on the other hand, means for transmitting the said message, the coverage areas of each transmitter not interfering with the coverage areas of the other transmitters, all the said transmitters (6) being initialised and updated from a central station, and in that the said signal reception means of the said mobile receiver cooperate with means for receiving the said radio frequency signals transmitted by the transmitters of the said farm and for transcoding the said messages into radio frequency signals intended to feed the said radio frequency receiving means. <IMAGE>
