The use of diterpenes of formula (I) as pharmaceutical agents is new. In (I), R1 = CH2-C(CH3) = CHR3 or CH2-CH(CH3)-CH2-R3. R3 = CH2OH, CHO, COOH or COOR4. R4 = 1-5C alkyl. A = CH-CH3 or C = CH2. R2 = H, pentose or hexose sugar, di-or oligosaccharide or an amino sugar. (I) are new as long as R1 is not -CH2-C(CH3) = CHCH2OH or -CH2-C(CH3) = CHCHO when A is C = CH2 and R2 is galactose. The use of a glycosylated derivative of (I) is specifically claimed. |
