PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of howling and to reduce the current consumption by changing the control method for transmission/reception circuit and display between the folded state and the open state of a folding portable telephone set. CONSTITUTION:When a user opens a hinge part 13 to speak by incorporated transmitter 24 and receiver 21, switches 23 and 25 are turned on so that transmission and reception are possible. When the hinge part 13 is closed, switches 23 and 25 are turned off to disconnect the transmission/reception circuit. When external transmitter 32 and receiver 31 are connected, switches 23 and 25 are always kept turned on during speaking. When the hinge part 13 is opened, a switch 43 is turned on to display data. When the hinge part 13 is closed, the switch 43 is turned off to turn off the power source of a display part 41 and a display driving circuit 42. |
