<p>PURPOSE:To provide a branch pipe joint which cannot be caught anywhere at the peripheral edge part of a fitting port of a main pipe when it is inserted into the fitting port, but which can be caught after the insertion thereof, which can be easily fitted in the fitting port with a small force, and which is excellent in the workability and which can ensure an attaching strength. CONSTITUTION:The lower end part of a receptacle short pipe 12 and a split ring 19 are inserted into a main pipe 11 through its fitting prot 11A. Further, a rubber ring 14 is fitted at the peripheral edge part of the fitting port 11A, and the receptacle short pipe 12 is pulled up, relative to the main pipe 11 and a saddle 13 by turning a manipulating ring 15 in such a condition that the saddle 13 is made into close contact with the peripheral edge part of the fitting port 11A. Thus, the split ring 19 is located at a small diameter part of an annular groove 16A formed in the receptacle short pipe 12 so that the outer diameter of the split ring 19 becomes smaller than the bore of the fitting prot 11A, and accordingly, the ring 19 can be inserted into the main pipe 11 without being caught by the fitting prot 11A of the pipe 11. When the receptacle short pipe 12 is pulled up, the diameter of the split ring 19 is gradually enlarged, and then it is locked to the peripheral edge part of the fitting port 11A.</p> |
