PURPOSE:To provide a thermal transfer recording medium which is free from causing of a blocking phenomenon even in the case where cause of a blocking phenomenon is prevented and the medium is kept under a rolled state for a long time or under a high temperature, in the thermal transfer recording medium wherein a thermal transfer ink layer and thermal transfer recording medium are provided respectively on the top and undersurface of a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A heat-resistant and protective layer is formed of an aqueous coating composition consisting mainly of the following component (a), (b) and/or (c). The component (a): 'this is an aqueous graft copolymer which is comprised of a radical polymeric silicone macromonomer A, a vinyl monomer B containing a phosphoric acid group within a molecule and the other vinyl monomer C which is polymerizable with the above-mentioned silicone macromonomer A and vinyl monomer B and is made dilutable with water through alkali neutralization. The component (b): this is glicydyl ether possessing at least two pieces of epoxy groups wihin one molecule. The component (c): this is a water dilutable melamine resin. |
