PURPOSE: To provide the gate of a simple photograph film scanning device capable of executing the image read scanning of high resolution and having multiple functions. CONSTITUTION: A radius from the center of a bow gate 100 to an outer face scanning a film is set to be six inches (about 15.2cm). The gate 10 is driven by a motor which can be inverted and it can be rotated around a pivot shaft through the optical chassis 40 of the scanning device 10. Then, it swings from side to side on the arc of about 6.5 deg. on both sides of an initial vertical position. The frame of a film is fixed to the aperture of the gate 100 by a clamping part moving with the gate 100. A spherical shaft of an eccentric shaft corresponding to the aberration board on the gate 100 adjusts the gate position. Then, the gate is adjusted in the direction ofθX andθZ by a pin and a bias spring, which are mounted on the gate and a gate driving system. Then, precise optical positioning is realized.
