PURPOSE:To eliminate complex processes so as to enhance productivity and to prevent imperfect connections by pressing the plate spring portion of a plate spring type pressure current collecting piece into contact with electrodes or electrode current collectors. CONSTITUTION:A group 4 of electrodes is formed by spirally winding a positive plate 1 and a negative plate 2 with a separator 3 therebetween, and is enclosed in a battery can 8 with current collectors 5, 6 disposed above and below the group 4 of electrodes with insulating resin plates 7 therebetween. The negative current collector 6 is welded to the bottom portion of the can 8 and a plate spring type pressure current collecting piece 10 is welded to a lid portion 9 and after sealing the current collecting piece 10 is pressed into contact with the positive current collector. Connections between the current collecting terminals and the electrodes are thus achieved by means of a plate spring, so as to reduce complex processes such as welding and application of conductive paint, thereby enhancing battery productivity. Use of the spring can prevent imperfect connections resulting from deformation of the electrodes and vibration when the battery is used. |
