PURPOSE: To make ferromagnetic films having excellent characteristics which are heretofore unusable for a head by virtue of a high-temp. stage usable as a head material by forming the ferromagnetic films on the sliding surfaces of the head after glass joining, thereby forming a gap. CONSTITUTION: Winding grooves 12 are formed on core half bodies 11a and 11b consisting of single crystal ferrite. The apex parts 13 of these core half bodies are thereafter ground at a specified thickness. The core half bodies 11a, 11b are then pressed and bonding glass 14 is inserted therebween and is heated to a high temp. of 500 to 700 deg.C to bond the core half bodies. The tape sliding surfaces of these bodies are lapped and the magnetic films 15 of a CoNbZr amorphous metal are applied on the sliding surfaces by a sputtering method. The magnetic film 15 on the sliding surface of the half body 1a exclusive of the magnetic film 15 on the sliding surface of the half body 1b is removed and a gap material film 16 is applied thereon. The magnetic film 17 of another metal consisting of the same material as the material of the magnetic film 15 is then applied thereon and the magnetic film 17 and the film 16 are removed and flattened by lapping until the magnetic film 15 is exposed, the slicing is performed. |
