PURPOSE:To accurately detect white lines by using the reflectivity of an object and utilizing the reflectivity being constant for detecting the white lines from road image information. CONSTITUTION:A processing partial area setting means 21 sets a reference line for a signal from an image signal input part 20, and a processing width is decided and switched. Next, the luminance of the object is calculated at every processing area by a luminance calculation part 30, on the other hand, an edge for cancelling a false edge signal is detected by a false edge detection part 32, processing is performed to the input signal by input signal arithmetic parts 36 and 44 in accordance with the luminances, calculation is performed by proportional reflection factor arithmetic parts 38 and 46 so as to smooth an amplitude both with the signal from the input signal arithmetic part and the reference value, and the signal is binarized by threshold value processing part 40 and 48. Then, a comparison processing part 50 calculates a white line signal from the image information by performing comparison processing for canceling the false edge signal. |
