An integrated microprocessor-based system for controlling both operating time and temperature within a food dehydrator. The system allows a user to enter both a desired operating time and temperature for the food dehydrator. While in operation, the system receives a measurement of the actual temperature within the dehydrator and provides control signals to the dehydrator's heating element and fan to maintain the measured temperature within a range of the desired temperature value. The system further displays either the remaining or elapsed time. When the remaining time reaches zero, or the elapsed time reaches its maximum value, the system shutts off the food dehydrator to complete the dehydration process. |
