PURPOSE:To make vector detection stably by offsetting picture elements used for vector detection in a frame or extending over many frames and enhancing density of picture elements used for vector detection in a frame equivalently. CONSTITUTION:A frame order detecting circuit 12 discriminates frames basing on vertical synchronizing signals and gives signals that offset representative points to a representative point setting circuit 11. On the basis of signals from the circuit 12, the circuit 11 offsets representative points in each frame. A subtracter 13 calculates the difference between picture elements of present frame corresponding to points obtained by offsetting the position of offsetted representative points by a sample vector and representative points 1,2 or 3 frames before. The difference is converted to absolute value by an absolute value circuit 14 and added by a frame difference adder circuit 15. The added value signal is inputted to frame memories 16,17,18, and frame difference signal added value of each sample vector is added by an adder 19, and outputted as motion vector by a minimum value detecting section 20. |
