PURPOSE:To provide a failure sensing device for car which can sense any smallest failure generated in the steering control system of a car. CONSTITUTION:A failure sensing device includes condition amount sensing means 110, 112, 114 to sense the condition amounts a, b, c about the motions of a car, a steering angle sensing means 116 to sense the steering angle deltaf of the car, a motion information presuming means 120 to presumptively calculate at least part a, b of the condition amounts about the motions of the car, and a remaining difference calculating means 122 which calculates the differences DELTAa, DELTAb of the sensed condition amounts from the presumptive value. A steering noise removing means 124 removes selectively the noise components in a frequency band associate with the steering from the entered difference values DELTAa, DELTAb, and the result is given to a failure sensing means 126. The means 126 compares the differences DELTAa, DELTAb with the reference value for failure sensing, and the failure in the steering control system is identified and emitted as output. |
