PURPOSE:To easily obtain a peptide inhibiting an angiotensin converting enzyme useful as pharmaceuticals and functional foods by culturing lactic bacteria (and yeast) in a medium containing a specific peptide and/or protein and purifying the product. CONSTITUTION:A lactobacillus (or yeast) strain is cultured in a medium containing a peptide and/or protein containing Ile-Pro-Pro and/or Val-Pro-Pro as constituent component and the culture product is purified to obtain the subject peptide containing Ile-Pro-Pro and/or Val-Pro-Pro and exhibiting excellent ACEinhibiting activity with an extremely small amount.
