PURPOSE:To provide a cooler for the screw of an extruder wherein the cooling length of the screw is regulated to optimum value without stopping operation of the extruder and also preparation for blank plugs different in length and the cooling tube of the cooler is made unnecessary. CONSTITUTION:A cooler for the screw of an extruder is constituted by forming a center hole 4 for cooling in the inside of the screw 3 of the extruder, inserting a screw cooling tube 12 provided with a refrigerant discharge hole 13 in the center hole 4 movably in the axial direction of the screw 3 and connecting the screw cooling tube 12 to a stroke regulating mechanism 23. |
