PRODUCTION OF TETRALIN DERIVATIVE

摘要

PURPOSE:To synthesize a tetralin derivative from a naphthalene compound in high selectivity. CONSTITUTION:A tetralin derivative is produced by contacting a naphthalene compound having relatively electron-accepting substituent or atom on one ring and relatively electron-donative substituent or atom on the other ring with hydrogen in the presence of at least one kind of catalyst consisting of Ru or Rh, thereby selectively reducing the ring substituted with substituent or atom having relatively high electron-donative property.
