PURPOSE:To provide a machine translation system capable of displaying a complementary phrase to an operator clearly by displaying only a translation word when the result of translation of a second language is displayed by an unordinary method when the translation word of the phrase not appearing in a first language text judging from the grammar rule of the second language is generated. CONSTITUTION:The first language text inputted from an input device 11 is translated to the second language by a first language text analyzer 12, a semantic converter 13, and a second language text generator 14. Also, a complementary word appearing in the second language is stored in a complementary phrase storage device 16 in the translation process. A complementary phrase in the complementary phrase storage device 16 is displayed in a display format stored in a complementary phrase display format storage device 17 when a translation result is displayed on a text display device 15. |
