PURPOSE:To mitigate traffic on a line, and to eliminate necessity to hold doubly character data and voice data, and to facilitate input work as well by transmitting and receiving code data obtained by converting a character string not containing KANJI (Chines character) and the code data obtained by converting a KANJI part while correlating them with each other. CONSTITUTION:The character data inputted from a character data input part 1 is sent to a character data/code data converting part 10. At the code data converting part 10, after the KANJI required at the time of display by a character data display indicating part 3 is decomposed from the character string by HIRAGANA (cursive form of Japanese syllabary) and the alphabet not containing the KANJI, the character string of the HIRAGANA and the alphabet and the KANJI part are converted respectively into the code data. Then, these code data are stored in an encoded character data storage part 11 as being correlated with each other. Then, these are transmitted by a communication control part 8, and at a receiving side, electronic mail received by a control part 9 through the communication control part is stored in the encoded character data storage part 11. |
